He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph and Pauline Murcko, Sr.. He is survived by: his children, Donna Marie Purcell (Lonny), Joseph J. Murcko III (Melinda) and Suzanne Surace (Brett); his grandchildren, Michael Purcell (Kayla), Kristin Purcell, Joseph J. Murcko IV (Maddy), Cierra Murcko, Alyson Braunbeck, Vincent Surace (Janelle) and Christopher Surace; his great grandchildren, Ellie, Emmie, Peyton, Karsyn Purcell, Lincoln and Paisley Braunbeck; his brother Robert Murcko (Diane); and his nieces and nephews, Todd, Jeff and Ryanne. He is also survived by numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins.

Charitable donations may be made to Mercy House by those wishing to memorialize Joe.
