He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Leonard and Beatrice Leonard; his brother Steven Leonard; his parents-in-law, Richard and Dorothy Luce; his nephew Joseph Alvord; and his sister-in-law Sue Hoover.

He is survived by: his wife Christine Leonard (Luce); his children, Matthew Leonard (Mary), Katrina Cabrera (Loris) and Andrew Leonard (Nicole); his grandchildren, Matthew, Makenna, Carmen, Haley, Paige and Gavin; his siblings, James Leonard (Michelle), Carol Gage (Robert), Colleen Donahue (Larry), Christine Houston, Larry Leonard (Bev) and Gary Leonard; his siblings-in-law, Thomas Luce, Gene Hoover and Carol Alvord (Bill); and his friends, Jim, Keith, Craig, Tim and Gary. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
