He was predeceased by: his father Philip P. (Alice Conway McGovern) of St. Mary; his wife Rose Mary McGovern; his mother Alice; his brothers, Gerard, Lawrence and John McGovern; his parents-in-law, Ambrose and Edna Kallighan; and his brother-in-law Richard Wooster.
He is survived by: his children, Philip A. McGovern (Catherine) and Clare McGovern-Lind (Erik); his grandchildren, Brenna, Seamus, Ezra and Isaac; his sister-in-law Laura Wooster of Port Jervis, NY; and his sisters, Mary Immaculate and O. P. (Alice McGovern) of Caldwell, NJ. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
