He was predeceased by: his parents, Myron X. Cary and Anna K. Cary (Bleisnick); his wife Geraldine; his siblings, Myron X. Cary Jr., Eleanor (Jay Shoemaker) and Joyce Ann (Charles Moore); his niece Ellen Riley; and his great-nephew Geoffrey Eck.

He is survived by: his children, Richard Jr. (Joan), Mary, AnnMarie (Rick) and Andrew; his grandchildren, Amanda (Pete), Alexandria (Matt), Richard Charles (Kareena), Cheryl (Lance), Richard III (Megan), Alexa (Jake) and Danielle; and his great grandchildren, Ella, Miles, Maddison, Sadie, James, Caroline, Morgan, Wyatt, Chase, Richard J. IV and Evelyn.
