He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Jr. Bonsell and June Bonsell; and his brother Wayne Bonsell. He is survived by: his wife Lori Bonsell; his children, Nicole Zomerfeld (Henry), Walter Bonsell IV (Josh) and Lisa Cass; his granddaughters, Ella and Emery Zomerfeld; and his siblings, Allen Davidson (LuAnn), Becky Peterson, William Bonsell, Debbie Paradis, Holley Peterson and Daisy Cady (Tom). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and long-time friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 6th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the American Legion Post 1645 (177 Robinson St, Binghamton, NY 13904).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Walter's name to Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
