He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Hotaling and Earsel Hotaling; and his grandson Grayson. He is survived by: his son William; his daughter-in-law Tara Gallagher; his daughter Bethann; his son-in-law Jerick Crociata; his grandchildren, Matthew Hotaling, Zaylen, Farlowe, Jonathan, Raylan and Finn; and his siblings, Barbara, Carol, Walter "Jitter" Pauly, Denny and Butchie. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
