He was predeceased by: his parents, William Kayes and Ester Kayes (Thurston); and his brother Albert Kayes. He is survived by: his daughters, Heather Kayes Gibbons (Tom Cawley) and Holly Kayes Baker; and his grandchildren, Devin, Justin Gibbons, Karter Baker and Peyton Willard of Portville.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Guenther Funeral Home (1303 E State St, Olean, NY 14760). The military honors will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Black Creek Cemetery (6172 NY-305, Black Creek, NY 14714).
