She was predeceased by : her husband James E. Hassett; her son Jack Thomson (Mary); and her parents, Frank Parello and Gertrude Mach. She is survived by : her daughter Kathleen Cyna; her son-in-law Matthew Cyna; her grandchildren, Heather Martinez (Scott), Nicholas Cyna (Jamie Bieber), John Thomson, Elizabeth Smith (John), Terry Yawn (Margaret) and Dani Schliebner; and her brother Victor Parello. She is also survived by many relatives and friends.

Memorial contributions in Mary Lou's honor may be made to Hospice Care Buffalo.
