He was predeceased by: his wife Phyllis Haines; and his parents, Cedric Jack and Florence Haines. He is survived by: his children, David (Tracey) and Karen O'Meara (Bill); his grandchildren, Michael, Sean and Kaylee; and his brothers, Robert (late Patricia) and Ronald Haines (Nona). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, January 16th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the John J Kaczor Funeral Home, Inc. (5453 Southwestern Blvd, Hamburg, NY 14075). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, January 17th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church (4737 Lake Shore Rd, Hamburg, NY 14075). An entombment was held on Saturday, January 17th 2026 from 11:45 AM to 12:00 PM at the Holy Cross Cemetery (2900 South Park Ave, Lackawanna, NY 14218).

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Mr. Haines' name to the Alzheimer's Association of WNY.
