He is survived by: his wife Lila Eckel of John's Lutheran Church; his children, Craig Eckel (Randi), Andrew Eckel, Barbara DeMichele (Thomas) and Linda Mendelson (Daniel); his grandchildren, Isaac Eckel, Katrina Eckel, Lianna Mendelson and Megan Trickey (Will); and his sister Ethel Palmer.
