He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo McKenna and Frances McKenna (Mackey); and his brothers, Donald, John "Bernard", Richard and Laurence McKenna.
He is survived by: his children, Kevin McKenna (Ellen Schumacher), Karen (Joe Latulipe), Kathy (Randy McDonald), Kimberly (Tom Jiguere) and Kelli (Todd D'Ambrosio); his grandchildren, Ryan Latulipe (Jason MacLean), Ashley Kennedy (Jared), Zachary McKenna (Sarah), Tyler Latulipe, Maddi McDonald, Trey McDonald, Kyle Jiguere, Logan McDonald, Lucas Jiguere, Lindsey D'Ambrosio, Owen D'Ambrosio, Nicholas Schumacher (Ashley) and Jenna Schumacher (Jeff Smith); and his sisters-in-law, Anna McKenna, Mickey McKenna and Evelyn McCormick (Arthur). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
