Mathis and Lois VanWagenen Mathis; his children, Dion Mathis (Heather), Corey Mathis (Mandy), Jill Lee (Rodney) and Andrew Mathis (Megan); his grandchildren, Levi Mathis, Emilee Backer, Brooke Redmond, Kaidance of Maine, Tucker, Owen, Jett Lee, Kaitlyn, Kaylee, Kiersten and Aiden Mathis; his great grandchildren, Emmett, Madelyn, Declan and Nevaeh; his siblings, David Mathis, Dale Mathis (Healon), Kenny Mathis (Donna) of Bloomfield, NY, Kevin Mathis and Janet Farmer; and his close friend Doreen Zalepski Snyder. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
