He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Burke and Francis Narabelle Prosser Burke; his son James P. Burke, Jr.; his grandson Dylan Burke; and his siblings, Margaret Curtiss, Gertrude Storms, Francis Philbrick, Isabelle Mallette, Thomas, Richard, Byron and Robert "Barney" Burke.
He is survived by: his sons, David Burke of Point Rock, Stephen Burke (Rebecca) of Point Rock and Jeffrey Burke (Dodi) of Point Rock; his grandchildren, Brandi Nieto, Jeremi Burke, Ian Burke, Jacob Burke, Stephen Burke, Brandon Burke, Brittany Pizarro, Ashley Russell and Samantha Russell; his great grandchildren, Caitlyn McCanney, Hailey McCanney, James McCanney, Oliviah Burke, Jayden Burke, Tristan Burke, Amarah Burke, Charles J. Burke, Dylan, Luna Burke, Landon Allen, Samuel Pizarro, Hunter Pizarro, Keegan Abbott and Maria Artz; and his brother Daniel Burke.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. (143 Schuyler St, Boonville, NY 13309). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
