He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert Turnbull and Bertha Turnbull (Olsen); his son Robert Alan Turnbull; his brother Paul; and his stepbrother Robert E. Turnbull.

He is survived by : his wife Donna Turnbull; his children, Donna Jorgensen (Jerry), Sandra Kelly (Dan) and David Turnbull (Catharine); his grandchildren, Michael LeVeille, Emily Kelly John Kelly, Sarah Kelly and Patrick Turnbull; his stepsister Joy Turnbull Thompson (James) of Oklahoma; and his friend Robert M. King.
