He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Cook and Marie Cook (Burgoyne); his son Shawn A. Cayea; and his siblings, Norman "Joe" Cook, Jr. and Debra McGregor.
He is survived by: his children, Kerry Reome of Massena, Bobbi Jo Russell of Massena, Nathan LaShomb of Massena, Nicole Cook of Castleton, Raymond Cook of Hyde Park and Richard Cook of Norwich; his wife Peggy Cook (Rufa); his sisters, Sharon (Jerry Locy), Joanne "Evie" (Lance Gibson), Susan (Tracy Phillips) and Margaret Tyo of Massena; and his grandchildren, Ashley Cayea, Hannah Cayea, Brenden Flanagan, Rilee Flanagan, Kali LaShomb, Kaleb LaShomb, Ronnie Reome, Haley Reome, Harper Gibson-Cook, Joel Gibson-Cook, Ashlyn Russell, Madayzia Russell, Owen Russell and Quinnton Kemison. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren Besides his parents and son.
A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025. A reception was held on Monday, May 12th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Pikes Place (138 County Route 50, Brasher Falls, NY 13613).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley, Inc.
