We bid farewell to James McCaughey (Brewster, New York), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on May 4, 2024 at the age of 84. James touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by : his parents, Frank McCaughey and Ellen McCaughey (McElroy); his wife Ellie; and his siblings, Frank, Mickey and Bernie.

He is survived by : his children, Eileen (Michael Bliss) of Annandale, VA, James (Kathleen Courtney) of Stratford, CT and Patrick (Heather Nicholls) of Brewster, NY; his grandchildren, Ciaran, Maeve, Brendan Bliss, Ceili, Seamus, Teagan, Kenna McCaughey, Liam and Molly McCaughey; and his siblings, Patrick (Kathleen), Sean (Maura), Ann O'Harte (Paul), Eugene (Mary), Tony (Bridie), Jack McCarthy (Mary), Patricia Molite (Lenny), Jean Woods (Woody), Kathleen Morrison (Tom) and McKenna. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, May 10th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Beecher Funeral Home (1 Putnam Ave, Brewster, NY 10509). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, May 11th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the St. Lawrence O'Toole Church (31 Prospect St, Brewster, NY 10509). A burial was held on Saturday, May 11th 2024 at 10:15 AM at the same location.
