He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Tavino and Nellie Tavino (Lato); and his son Thomas Tavino (Samantha). He is survived by: his wife Mary Whelly of Mary's Church; his sons, Christopher Tavino (Sherry) of Brookfield, CT and Daniel Tavino of Danbury, CT; and his grandchildren, Lucas, Michaela, Tommy and Codie.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Beecher Funeral Home (1 Putnam Ave, Brewster, NY 10509). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Lawrence O'Toole Catholic Church (34 Prospect St, Brewster, NY 10509). A burial was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 11:15 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Lawrence O'Toole Cemetery (40 Turk Hill Rd, Brewster, NY 10509).
