Valdemar Pereira Obituary

Valdemar Pereira of Brewster, NY, passed away Wednesday January 8, 2025, in Carmel, NY at the age of 81.

Valdemar "John" Pereira was a loving and compassionate family man, he was smart, generous, and kind. He was known in a variety of roles: father, husband, papa, grandpa, father-in-law, and great friend. A devoted father, always there to offer guidance, love, honesty, and a hearty laugh. John was an avid soccer fan and loved watching his team score goals. He also never missed the opportunity to see a Pittsburgh Steelers game. John's friends and family knew him to be a man who could be counted on in good times and bad. His loyalty and desire to protect were always evident. His humor was infectious and his enthusiasm, and integrity will be missed dearly and mourned by everyone who loved him. John's memory will remain in the hearts of all those who were honored to have had the privilege of knowing him.

Besides his wife Deborah, Valdemar is survived by his son John Pereira and his wife Anna of North Haven, CT; daughters Mary Pereira, Tara Hussein and her husband Tareq of Wingdale, NY and Rhonda Piacente and her husband Vincent of Palm Bay, FL; grandchildren Gianni, Angela, Jayden, Zainah, Christina and John and great grandchild Arabella.

Funeral services will be private.
