He is survived by: his wife Katherine Files; his children, Jim Files (Sarah), Jennifer Files (Richard Cunningham) and Rockie Files (Terry Engebretsen); his grandchildren, Jordyn Files, Jackson Files, Sophia Kinney, Katherine Kinney, Hailey Gladle, Zoey Gladle, Mikaya Gladle, Harper Gladle, Gianna Cunningham, Richard Cunningham, Leavanna Cunningham, Rocky Files, Richard Pontello and Izabella Pontello; his great grandchildren, Brantley Shantel and Oaklyn Shantel; his mother-in-law Thola Waldau; his brothers-in-law, Richard Waldau Jr. (Marianne Dolly), Donald Waldau (Phyllis), Robert Waldau, John Waldau (Debbie) and Frederick Waldau (Michelle); and his siblings, Sherry Mccurtain, Martin Balintfy, Kelly Balintfy and Hemi.
