She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Cranford and Elizabeth Schenk Cranford; and her son Richard C. Carter. She is survived by: her husband Alan P. Gottschald; her children, Arthur D. Carter of Natchitoches, LA, James E. Carter of Galway, NY, Jerald G. Carter of Warrior, AL and Jenean E. Carter of Galway, NY; and her half-brother Thomas Edwards of Rising Sun, MD. She is also survived by four grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
