At the age of 27, Alejandro made the courageous decision to leave his homeland and come to the United States in pursuit of a better life. Encouraged by his dear friends, Mario Lu and Carlos Heredia, he embraced the unknown with determination, hope, and an extraordinary work ethic. Guided by his deep faith in God, Alejandro believed that through hard work, perseverance, and God's grace, he could build a brighter future—not only for himself, but for everyone he loved. In his early years in America, he worked three jobs—as a baker, a cook, and a cab driver—never afraid of sacrifice if it meant creating new opportunities for his family.
While attending English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, Alejandro met the love of his life, Sylvia Paredes. Together they built a life rooted in love, resilience, faith, and shared dreams, creating a family that became the center of his world.
After learning the upholstery trade from one of his closest friends, Emilio Rios, Alejandro founded his own upholstery business. Through dedication, skill, and perseverance, he achieved success that allowed him not only to provide for his wife and children, but also to support his extended family in the United States and loved ones back in Peru. His generosity knew no boundaries. He gave freely of his time, his resources, and his heart, always placing the needs of others before his own. His faith taught him that blessings were meant to be shared, and he lived that belief every day.
Alejandro was also deeply committed to the Peruvian community. He devoted countless hours to leading Peruvian organizations, organizing community events, and bringing people together in celebration of their shared heritage. He believed in lifting others up and strengthening the bonds that connected families and friends far from home.
Though he achieved many remarkable accomplishments throughout his life, Alejandro would have said that his greatest success was his family. They were his pride, his purpose, and the source of his greatest joy. More than anything, he hoped to leave them not only with security and opportunity, but with the values of faith, integrity, generosity, and love that guided his own life.
He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Sylvia; his children, Patricia, Anna, and Alejandro; his cherished grandchildren, Jennifer, Alexandra, Sylvia, and Ricardo; and his beloved great-grandchildren, Edward Jr., Cassie, Eli, Charles, Aiden, Caison, Cali, Ava, Capri, Scarlett, Carli, and Kristian. He also leaves behind his faithful companions and beloved pets, Kiki, Luna, and Mia, who brought him comfort and happiness each day.
Alejandro's life is a testament to the power of faith, courage, hard work, kindness, and unconditional love. He leaves behind not only a grateful community, but a family forever shaped by his example. His legacy will live on through the lives he touched, the opportunities he created for others, and the steadfast faith that sustained him through every challenge and every triumph.
