Tina was born in Ponza, Italy on November 22, 1939 to Francesco and Maria Romano. She was raised in Ventotene, Italy with her brother, Vincenzo "Enzo" until the family came to America in November 1960 just 4 days before her 21st birthday. Had she arrived on her 21st birthday or later she would have had to return to Italy and start the process all over.
Tina was a seamstress at several local factories. Then in '80s she started working for the NYC Board of Education as a lunch aid but then worked her way up to Food Service Manager at Mt Carmel School. Tina loved to read her Italian magazines and novels.
Tina is survived by her son Luigi (Dawn) and grandson Nicholas; brother Vincenzo (Jennifer), several nephews Frankie (Jessica), John (Lauren) and Vincent, several great nieces and nephews (Vienna, John, Hailey, Angelina, Alyssa).
Tina was predeceased in death by her husband Silverio (1980), her daughter Dora Marie (1967), her loving parents Maria Scotti 1991) and Francesco Romano (1996). The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff of Jacobi & Montefiore hospitals , especially Melissa Larson, for their care and kindness.
