Candida Lepore Obituary
Candida De Masi Lepore passed away on April 21 at the age of 76.
She was born in 1949 in Grottorella, a province of Avellino, Italy to parents Olimpia and Alfonso De Masi. In her teenage years, her family immigrated to America. She spent the rest of her life living in Bronx, New York, and died in the place she was born.
In 1972, she married her husband, Rocco Lepore. Together, they raised four children, Felice, Rick, Fabio and Francesca. She was a beloved mother and Nonna to 11 grandchildren, 9 girls and 2 boys.
Candida loved her family and spent her life giving back to them, hosting weekly dinners, an annual Christmas Eve party and the longstanding tradition of making tomato sauce every year with her family and friends. They will forever cherish memories with her.
She is survived by her four children, Felice (Jeanie), Rick, Fabio (Erica) and Francesca (Mario); her 11 grandchildren, Lauren, Elizabeth, Juliana, Gabriella, Abbigail, Rocco, Ava, Isabella, Gemma, Olivia, and Mario; her brother Angelo and sister Maria, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Olimpia and Alfonso, her husband, Rocco, and her brothers Giuseppe and Cosimo.
A wake will be held on Wednesday, May 6 at Sisto Funeral Home at 3489 E Tremont Ave, Bronx, NY from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. A funeral will be held Thursday, May 7 at St. Theresa Church, 2855 St. Theresa Ave, at 9:45 a.m. followed by a burial at St. Raymond's Cemetery, 1201 Balcom Ave.
