Born on March 17, 1951, in Manhattan, New York, Carol was the beloved daughter of Joseph Sr. and Clara Lee. She was raised in the Bronx, New York, where she attended P.S. 71, J.H.S. 101, and James Monroe High School. Carol went on to earn an Associate degree in Business from Baruch College.
Carol accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Walker Memorial Baptist Church when it was located on 116th Street in Harlem. Her faith remained a guiding force throughout her life.
Carol began her professional career as an Administrative Assistant with American Express, where she worked for many years. She later relocated to Virginia and continued her career as a Correctional Officer with the Maryland Department of Public Safety, serving with dedication and professionalism.
Carol grew up in the Throggs Neck section of the Bronx, where she met and married Michael Manuel Alexander. Together they built a loving family. She was a loving mother to her three daughters, Christina Marie, Delvia Mei-Ling , and Mayana Shanee , and her son, Kenik Caron.
In December 2025, Carol moved back to New York, to live with her daughter Mayana and be closer to her family, a time she deeply cherished.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Sr. and Clara Lee; her late husband Michael; her brother, Joseph Jr.; her sisters, Catherine and Naomi ; her brothers in law, Ricardo Alexander, Archibald Douglas and Jackie Cooper; and her beloved nephew, Tylon Lee Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children: Christina, Delvia (Malik), Mayana (Edwin), and Kenik (Aquila); her brother, Herbert Lee SR.; her sisters-in-law, Cecilia, Priscilla and Leyla; her cherished grandchildren, Shawntee' (Mario), Jordan, Kwatazia, Octavia, Kendell, Khalil, Khalia, Malik, Mya, Gloria, Madison, Kenneth, and Ka'Mya; her treasured great-grandchildren, Brianna, Brielle, Harlem, Nova, Nevaeh and Aaliyah; her beloved nieces, Monee', Jasmine, Shante, Essence, Carla, and Aniya; her nephews, Herbert Jr., David, Patrick and Tylon Jr.; along with a host of cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever carry her love in their hearts.
