Jan Micheaux was born on July 13, 1951 to Elaine Bonner, and Jon Micheaux in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was educated in the Pittsburgh school system. Jan was the father to three children, JP Micheaux, Josie Garrad, and Janet Schwartz-Micheaux. Jan married Anita Schwartz on August 7, 1994. He had a life of love and enjoyment with her, often watching movies, taking trips, and doing home renovations together. Jan worked at Nestle Waters North America for 33 years in Stamford, Connecticut as a mailroom administrator. During that time, Jan was a dedicated employee and loyal colleague, engaging in company softball and bowling leagues and enthusiastically greeting everyone by name. Prior to working for Nestle Waters, Jan proudly drove the tour bus for the Rat Race Choir. Jan Micheaux was a fun-loving, charismatic, and caring husband, father, and grandfather. He deeply enjoyed spending time with loved ones, playing board games at his mother's home, having cook outs on the back deck, and reading the newspaper every Sunday with his daughter. His playful attitude towards life and ability to live in the moment was memorable, and he will be deeply missed.

Jan Micheaux died from complications of dementia on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at his personal care home. He leaves to mourn his loss: his wife, Anita Schwartz; his brother, Jon Micheaux; his three children, JP Micheaux, Josie Garrad, and Janet Schwartz-Micheaux; one son-in-law, James Garrad; three grandchildren, Elijah Garrad, Zoe Garrad, and Nathaniel Garrad; his nephew, Brandon Abrams; cousins Tyler and Louise, and a host of family and friends.
