It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan Shoemaker Pizzi Petrucelli (Bronx, New York), who passed away on January 2, 2026, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Joan may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Joan touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

She was predeceased by: her former husband Raymond J. Pizzi; and her husband Joseph L. Petrucelli. She is survived by: her sons, Thomas (Lois), Michael (Una) and John (Sue); and her stepchildren, Raymond (Jean), Jean Marie (Michael), Dorothea, Neal (Liza) and Elissa (John). She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
