Jorge L. Astacio Torres Obituary
Jorge Luis Astacio Torres, 73, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 7:54 p.m., surrounded by his loving family.
Jorge was born on June 22, 1952, in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, to Luis Angel Astacio (predeceased) and Patria Torres.
He was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend who touched the lives of many through his kindness, humor, and dedication to his family.
He is survived by his children: Lizmarie Astacio (Joseph Nardi), Richard Astacio (Yadhira), Arlene Astacio, and Danny Astacio (Laura). He was predeceased by his son, Jorge Astacio.
He was a proud grandfather to Joe Centano, Stephanie Osback, Ian Astacio, Justin Astacio, Alberto R. Rivas, Brandon Astacio, Tiffany M. Garcia, Katelynn Z. Garcia, and Savannah Marie Astacio.
Jorge was also blessed with a great-grandchild, Eleanor Marie Centano.
Jorge is also survived by his siblings: Jose Astacio, Angel Astacio, Hector Astacio, Miguel Astacio, Albert Astacio, and Jeniffer Frias.
Jorge spent most of his adult life living and raising his family in the Bronx, New York, before moving to Norwalk, Connecticut, shortly after the COVID pandemic.
For over 30 years, he worked as a dedicated doorman at Bukingham Condos located at 143 Hoyt Street in Stamford, Connecticut. He was known for his hard work, reliability, and the friendships he built with residents, neighbors, and coworkers throughout the years.
Jorge had a lifelong passion for technology and computers dating back to the days of the Commodore 64 and Tandy Color Computer. He was also an avid ham radio operator proudly known by his call sign, KB2NEX. He enjoyed photography and loved chasing Pokémon, hobbies that brought him joy, adventure, and connection with others.
Jorge will be remembered for his warmth, curiosity, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family and friends.
