He was predeceased by: his parents, Juan Ríos and Ermenegilda Rivera; his wife Carmen Ríos; and his brother Roberto Ríos. He is survived by: his children, Carmen Iris Moreno (Jose), John M. Ríos (Fuelyn), Elizabeth Lorenzo (Thomas Gorman), Melvin Ríos (Sara) and Maria C. Ríos (Timothy James); his siblings, Miguel Angel Ríos (Santín), Carmen Molina, Victor Ríos (Ladis) and Gladys Román (Ernesto); his grandchildren, Damian Lorenzo III (Natalie Burke), Elaina Lorenzo, Elise Soto, Victoria Luzinas (Zachary) and Rebecca Lorenzo; his great grandchildren, Damian, Lana, Dante Lorenzo, Elaina, Elise and Victoria; his close friend Jose Elias Soto; Ella, Lyla, Aria LorenzoDahn, Antonio Soto and Gabriel Luzinas. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends.
