She was predeceased by: her husband Sidney Charles; and her siblings, John, Edward, Richard, Marvin, Josephine and Virginia.

She is survived by: her children, Linda McDonald (Milton, Jr.), Diane Tomlinson (Leonard, Sr.), Sylvia Charles and Sidney Charles, Jr. (Gloria); and her siblings, Robert Hill, Melvin Hill (Virginia) and Anna Nichols. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren along with a number of relatives and friends.
