Nancy Gianatasio Obituary
Nancy Gianatasio, a loving, kind-hearted New Yorker, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at the age of 80.
Born in the Bronx, New York, on February 21, 1946, she was the beloved daughter of the late Ralph and Lucy Gianatasio and the devoted longtime partner of Nicholas Giancaspro.
Nancy is survived by her loving sister and brother-in-law, Arlene and Jerry Lippiello; her cherished niece; her six nephews; and her many great nieces and great nephews.
A graduate of James Monroe High School, Nancy built a career marked by hard work and dedication. She worked alongside her father at Ralph's Shell before proudly managing one of the family's service stations. She also enjoyed many successful years as a retail sales professional at The Lamp Factory and concluded her career as a teacher's aide at a local elementary school, where the children knew she was always in their corner.
Nancy devoted her life to her family, friends, and community. Her generosity, compassion, and willingness to help others touched countless lives. She had an unmistakable New York spirit, never hesitated to tell it like it was, and had a gift for turning everyday moments into stories that left everyone laughing. One of her favorite expressions, shared with a smile after finishing a tale, was, "That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.". It perfectly captured her wit, humor, and one-of-a-kind personality. And when it was time to head out, she would simply say, "Andiamo!- her cheerful invitation to get moving and embrace whatever came next.
Nancy will be remembered for the kindness she shared, the lives she touched, and the love she gave to those around her. She will be deeply missed by her family, her friends, and all those who knew her.
