Norma será recordada no solo por su inmensa fortaleza, sino también por su cálida sonrisa, su espíritu vivaz y la manera tan especial en que hacía sentir amado a todo aquel que la rodeaba. Ella construyó los cimientos sobre los que hoy se sostiene nuestra familia. Damos gracias a Dios por habernos regalado innumerables recuerdos junto a ella, recuerdos que atesoraremos y llevaremos por siempre en nuestros corazones.
With deep sadness and with all our love, we announce the death of Norma Alicia Santiago, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and the heart of our family.
Born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, Norma bravely emigrated to the United States in search of a better future for her two daughters. As a single mother, she worked tirelessly as a seamstress, supporting her family with unwavering strength, determination and love. Her sacrifice and resilience laid the foundation for the generations that continue her legacy today.
Norma was the matriarch of our family, the bond that kept us together with her wisdom, kindness, cheerful character and unconditional love. Her home was always a place of comfort, laughter and unity. Thanks to her we learned the value of family, hard work, generosity and finding meaning in the simplest moments of life. She also found a life partner in her dear Richie, whose love, support and company provided her with great comfort. Together they shared countless memories that we will always cherish.
Norma leaves a legacy that will live forever through the traditions and values she sowed in each of us. She taught us love for dance, cooking, family, joy and family gatherings, where every meal was an expression of love and an opportunity to create unforgettable memories. She cared for her eight grandchildren with immense love and had the joy of meeting and enjoying her four great-grandchildren. Less than a year ago we said goodbye to Liam, one of her beloved great-grandchildren. Today we find comfort in imagining that our dear "Baby" has reunited with him, playing together among the angels. Norma's greatest happiness was always to see her family united and to see them grow. Today we feel peace knowing that she rests in peace alongside Liam and her loved ones.
Norma will be remembered not only for her immense strength, but also for her warm smile, her lively spirit and the very special way she made everyone around her feel loved. She built the foundations on which our family stands today. We thank God for having given us countless memories together with her, memories that we will treasure and carry in our hearts forever.
