Rosanna M. Barile Obituary

Rosanna M. Barile, 89, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in the Bronx, New York, on January 27, 1937, Rosanna was the cherished daughter of Anna and Anthony Garofola. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth, kindness, and generosity touched all who knew her.

Rosanna began her career with Con Edison as a key punch operator and later served as a school secretary for the New York City Board of Education until her retirement. During her children's school years, she was an active volunteer with the PS 71 Parent-Teacher Association, culminating in her service as PTA President.

Above all, Rosanna's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her beloved and devoted husband, Pasquale Barile; her son, Michael Barile; her daughter, Karen Barile Longo and her husband, Charles Longo; and her cherished grandchildren, Christopher and Allison, who were the pride of her life.

She is also survived by her loving sisters, Filomena, Beatrice, and Elizabeth. Affectionately known as "the Garofola girls," the sisters shared a lifelong bond and remained a constant source of love, companionship, and support to one another throughout their lives. She is further survived by many beloved nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

Rosanna will be remembered for her devotion to her faith, her love of family, her strong work ethic, and her strong-willed spirit. Her legacy of love, faith, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, June 1, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Sisto Funeral Home.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 2, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Interment will follow at St. Raymond's Cemetery, Bronx, New York.
