He was predeceased by: his parents, Matthew Collins and Alice Collins; his son Kevin; and his brother Michael. He is survived by: his wife Mary; his sons, Jimmy and Gerard; his child-in-law Tracy Collins; his grandchildren, Anna Rose and Gaelen; and his siblings, T. J., Lal and Pat.
