With heavy hearts, we announce the death of David J. Harney (Brooklyn, New York), who passed away on April 7, 2026 at the age of 61. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Oscar R.. He is survived by: his mother Mary T. Harney (Hennessy) of Ormond Beach, FL; his wife Maura J. Kugelman; his siblings, Robert, Kathleen Milazzo (Larry), Irene Scully (late Jim) and James (Christine); his nieces and nephews, Daniel (Hana), Lauren (Gabe Gordon), Larry Milazzo (Ezra), Christopher (Christi), Megan (Matthew Mirsky) and Matthew Scully; his cousin Patty (late Ken); Colleen (Artie Greenberg) and Emily Mangan (Charlotte Benischek).
In lieu of flowers, he requested donations to the FDNY Fire Family Transport Unit as they were beyond supportive in helping he and Maura get to and from doctor appointments and treatments at Columbia.
