He was predeceased by: his parents, Etta Taylor Moore and Roscoe Moore; his wife Madeline (Mat); his siblings, Ossie, Julius (Ernestine), Diamond V. (Mae), McDonald (Eliza), Etta Mae (Calvin), Cather Mae (Buddie), Dorthy Mae (John) and Thelma (Richard); and his sons, Jay Tyra, Jermaine Lamonte and Kevin Chase.
He is survived by: his sons, LaVaughn (Phyllis) and Jeffery (Alice); his grandchildren, Jamell, Jeffery, Jasen, Kamel, Fatima, Mona'e and Deja; and his great grandchildren, Blaise, Atianna and Brooklyn. He is also survived by nieces, nephews' other relatives and friends.
