It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jose E. Almodovar in Brooklyn, New York, who passed away on July 5, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Jose departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Jose. Though Jose may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Carlo Soto and Maria Soto; his wife Ruth; his children, Melanie and Jose Jr. (Joey); his grandchildren, Joshua, Victoria, Ethan and Valentina; and his brothers, Carlito and Mikey. He was also cherished by many extended family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Werst & LaBella Funeral Home (71-41 Cooper Ave, Glendale, NY 11385). A funeral service was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Evergreens Cemetery (16-29 Bushwick Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11207).
