He was predeceased by: his parents, John Cottingham and Nora Cottingham of County Galway; his granddaughter Ann; and his sisters, Mary Leonard, Ann Foulkes and Susan Murray.
He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Trapp; his children, Martin (Kathleen), Christopher (Jacqueline) and Aimee; his grandchildren, Brendan, Genevieve, Morgan and Lynn; and his siblings, Patricia Sohn (Ted), John and Thomas (Eileen). He is also survived by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and life-long friends.
