It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marvin E. Mayfield Jr. (Brooklyn, New York), who passed away on March 30, 2023, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Reverend Marvin E. Mayfield, Sr.; his sister Naomi; and his niece Jennifer (Chyann). He is survived by: his mother Louise Frances Mayfield (Moultrie); his wife Edith R. Mayfield (Mayfield); his sons, Nicholas, Kevin and Timothy; his grandchildren, Nyomi, Naliyah and Nicholas, Jr.; his siblings, John, Laurence and Carolyn; his cousins, Delores (Cookie), Loretta, Rita, Lester, JoAnn, Jackie, Michael, Richard and Gwen; his nieces and nephews, Simone, Simaya, Ashley, Anaya, Candace, Amaya, Shania, Aliya, Kali, Cori, Jeffrey, Kaseem, Jason, Zahmir, Christopher, Royce and Jacob; and his former wife Paulette Brown-Fenner. He is also survived by many other family members and friends.

Pre-pandemic, he enjoyed accompanying his wife to Bronx-area nursing homes to minister in song to the residents.
