Nelly Ortiz Obituary

We are sad to announce that on September 26, 2025, at the age of 87, Nelly Ortiz (Brooklyn, New York) passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Nelly Ortiz to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Salustiano Ortiz and Rosa Elisa Ruiz; and her son Rene. She is survived by: her children, Lille, Norma (Iris), Lydia, Onelia, Abimael (Papo), Abigail (Tata), Enrique (Junior) and Hector; and her caregivers, Nathalie and Tatiana. She is also survived by grandchildren and great grand children and 14 great great grand children as well as an abundance of extended family.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Daniel J. Schaefer Funeral Home (4123 4th Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11232).

Nelly was a breast cancer survivor who battled Alzheimer's for over 10 years and we walk for her as Nelly's Voice.
