She was predeceased by: her parents, Shunpei Kato and Toku Kato; and her husband Albert E. Baggs. She is survived by: her children, George S. Baggs (Mary), Gwen Baggs Ito and Elaine T. Holmquist (Christopher); and her grandchildren, Christopher Baggs (Ariel), Hanna Ito, Jonathan and David Holmquist.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Westminster Presbyterian Church (724 Delaware Ave, Buffalo, NY 14209).
Flowers will be gratefully received, but the family also encourages anyone who wishes to make a memorial in Akiko's honor to consider instead a donation to Westminster's Friends of Music program.
