Tom Rauen wrote a sympathy message

“Barb and I started construction Splicing together. We met at climbing school in Long Island and quickly became friends. She was easy to get along with and had a good sense of humor. Barb was among the first females to work in what was considered a man's job. She paved the way for many that followed by standing up for herself and proving she was more than competent. I will always hold her in the highest esteem. Sincere condolences to all her loved ones. Rest in Peace my friend Tom Rauen”
