He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Theresa Long (Barrile); his children, Tara Gipp (Keith), Brett Long (Christina) and Justin Long (Megan); his grandchild Tristan; his great-grandparent Tara; his grandparents, Joshua, Matthew, Brenna, Nathan and Reece; his parents, Thelma Long and Dennie Long; his siblings, JoAnn Hunt (Jerry), Beverly Wilson (late Douglas) and Barry M. Long; his parents-in-law, Michael and Angeline Barrile; his siblings-in-law, Charlene Sardo (Frank) and John Barrile; and his close friend Herb Hall. He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the C. Mertz and Son Funeral Home, Inc. (911 Englewood Ave, Buffalo, NY 14223). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church (2100 Baseline Rd, Grand Island, NY 14072).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Darryl's memory to Hospice.
