He was predeceased by: his wife Phyllis M. Winkle; and his siblings, Alfred J. Winkle (Isabella), Mary "Teal" Winkle, Merle Winkle Jr., Geraldine Pierce (Byron), Jean Marie Winkle, Rosella "Ullie" Birrer (Werner "Babe") and Patricia Winkle.
He is survived by: his children, Donald M. Jr. (late Susan), Jeffrey (Judy) and Nancy Winkle; and his grandchildren, Stephen Winkle (Kaylee), Kody Gailie, Sarah Winkle (Nicholas Czajka) and Teal Winkle.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Don's memory to Roswell Park Alliance, AROCC Endowment Fund for Pediatric Cancer Research.
