Sankey, Sr.; his wife Marilyn J.; his children, Lynda Kaczynski (Obdulio Coton), Karyn Szafarski (John), Regyna Waterhouse (Bill), Edward J. Sankey III and Michelle Appenheimer (John); his grandchildren, Emily Kaczynski (Chris Dudkowski), Andrew Kaczynski, Sara Wolfram (Carolyn), Jonathan Szafarski (Amber DiChristina), Steven Taberski, Abigail Taberski (Robbie Getz), Rayleen Sankey (Brandon Rath), Edward J. Sankey VI, Riley Wyatt, Isabella Danahey, Marilyn Danahey, Samantha Appenheimer (Michael Scime), Stephanie Appenheimer and Gina Appenheimer (Mack Baker); and his siblings, Janice Sankey (late Ceil Wheaton), Marilyn Wackenheim (late Dick), Chris Pecherzewski (Walter), Joyce Beaver (late Bob) and Lois Vassar (late Bob). He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 14th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Pietszak Funeral Home (2400 William St, Cheektowaga, NY 14206). An entombment will be held on Thursday, January 15th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Forest Lawn Cemetery (1411 Delaware Ave, Buffalo, NY 14209).
