He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Arthur J. Schaefer and Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Schaefer. He is survived by: his wife Marlene Ann Schaefer RN; his children, Dawn Marie Schaefer-Jex, Jamie Lea Schaefer-Poling (Daniel Paul Poling) and Alyce Daniela Schaefer-Brooks (Andrew Eric Brooks); his grandchildren, Danni Elizabeth Jex, Liviana Faye Poling, Quinton Eric Brooks and Brooks; and his siblings, A. Dale Schaefer, Janet Marie Sebastian and Nancy Beth Murray. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
