He was predeceased by: his parents, James Bell and Ida Kapsiak; and his grandson Gavin. He is survived by: his wife Elder Mary Ruth; his children, Dr. Jennifer and Bradford; his grandsons, Noah, Aiden and Blake; his brother David Kapsiak; his stepfather Stan Kapsiak; his siblings-in-law, Mattie Worthy (late Leroy Worthy) of Buffalo, NY, Delores DeBreaux (late Robert DeBreaux) of Buffalo, NY and James E. Morrow (late Leona Boatwright); his close friend Charlie SanGeorge; his godchildren, Matthew Terrance Smith of East Amherst, NY, Lydia Smith Hordges of Austell, GA., Christopher John Gibson of Buffalo, NY, Mieko Cromer of Atlanta, GA. and Lovell Pompey Jr. of Buffalo, NY; and his pets, King and Prince. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, July 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. John Baptist Church (184 Goodell St, Buffalo, NY 14204). A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
