She was predeceased by: her parents, Geroge W. Staub and Marion Staub (Henning); her husband Lawrence E. Whitney; her children, Mary Fish and RIchard Whitney; her brother Gerald Stub (Judith); and her son-in-law Jack Anastasi.
She is survived by: her daughter Laurie Anastasi (Michael Smith); her grandchildren, Jesse Fish (Serina), Tracy, Melissa (Bryan) and Jennifer; and her sister Nancy Kijowski (Richard). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Joan's memory to Niagara Hospice or any animal foundation.
