He was predeceased by: his fiancée Donna Jesment Licata. He is survived by: his granddaughter Lenore Bernice Dennis; his parents, Bernice L. Demler (Vogt) and Walter H. Demler; his sisters, Deborah McCauley (Thomas), Margaret Pasiak (John), Maryalice Demler and Elizabeth Demler; and his daughters, Andrea Licata, Jenna Ellis (James) and Ashley Flaherty (Patrick).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, 665 Elm Street, Buffalo, NY 14203.
