He was predeceased by: his wife Marcia (Granger); his parents, Charles Gerwitz and Lugarda Benz Gerwitz; and his siblings, Richard, Howard, Cyril, Rodger, Charles, Gertrude Borer and Jane Dunkleman.
He is survived by: his children, Mark (Karen), Marie Muscatello (Rich), Matt (Sue) and John (Cristina); his grandchildren, Anne, Nick, Emmett, Ashley, Victor, Teale, Nolan, Seth, Andrew and Emilia; and his siblings, Gerald and Mary Jane.
