John leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. John’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Marie M. Ruppel; his daughter Jennifer Ruggiero (Christopher); his grandsons, Ethan and Michael Ruggiero; his siblings, Irving Ruppel Jr. (Marilyn) and Jill Kopasz; and his siblings-in-law, Leslie Kopasz and John Rauh (Sally). He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the C. Mertz & Son Funeral Home (911 Englewood Ave, Buffalo, NY 14223). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 9:30 AM at the St. John the Baptist Church (1085 Englewood Ave, Buffalo, NY 14223).
